Title Exploring the Evolution of Energy Systems through Time Series Modeling: A Cross-Country Comparison within the OECD Focusing on Japan’s Electricity Structure Transformation
Abstract This talk explores how time series analysis and data modeling techniques can be used to track and forecast the structural evolution of national electricity systems. Focusing on Japan’s energy transition as a central case study, the research conducts cross-country comparisons with electricity structures across OECD economies to analyze the dynamic adjustment patterns of energy systems following major external shocks.
The presentation highlights methods for handling nonlinear and non-stationary energy data, identifying trends and uncertainties in the transformation of electricity systems. It also discusses how data-driven modeling, under high-dimensional policy and environmental variables, can provide scientifically grounded quantitative insights into energy system transitions.
