Mr. Ching-Hsiang Chen (Class of 1975)
  1. Strong academic foundation, earning a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from National Cheng Kung University, a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Louisiana, reflecting extensive international study experience.
  2. Developed a solid academic career with appointments at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and National Tsing Hua University; currently a Professor at the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Southern Mississippi.
  3. Frequent international academic exchange, serving as a visiting scholar at National Taiwan University, University of Ljubljana, and Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, demonstrating a broad global academic vision.
  4. Research expertise in cutting-edge applied mathematics, focusing on meshfree methods, radial basis functions, and numerical simulations; has received funding from the National Science Foundation, NATO, and other institutions.
  5. Recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the Ministry of Education Distinguished Overseas Scholar Fellowship, National Science Council Scholarship (Taiwan), and Fulbright Specialist Grant (USA).
