Directions from the airports

Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)

This is the second and closer international airport. There are international flights via TPE (see below), Bangkok, Hong Kong, etc. And there are direct flights from Narita, Kansai, Incheon, Busan. For the airport's webpage, click.

From the airport to the university, it takes about 50 minutes by car or 1~1.5 hours by subway + train.

• Take a pre-arranged taxi (1100 TWD).
• Take a pre-arranged shared shuttle (400 TWD).
• Take public transportation via the following steps:
  1. Take a subway (Kaohsiung MRT) from Kaohsiung International Airport to Kaohsiung Main Station 高雄車站 (35 TWD, 18 min).
  2. Walk to the street level and go to the railway Kaohsoing Station in the next building. See the station's wikipedia page.
  3. Take a train (Taiwan Railways Administration) from Kaohsiung Station 高雄 to Tainan Station 台南 (68 or 82 or 106 TWD depending on train type, 31~68 min).
  4. The Rear Exit 後站 of Tainan Station leads right to the campus. The train station is on the left of the Campus map.

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)

This is the major international airport. For the airport's webpage, click. From the TPE airport to the university, it takes about 2.5 hours by shuttle bus + fast train + local train:

1. Take a shuttle bus (Ubus 705) to THSR Taoyuan Station 高鐵 桃園站 (30 TWD, 25 min). The Taipei metro card ( 悠遊卡) can also be used on this shuttle bus.
2. Take a THSR (Taiwan high speed rail) train from Taoyuan Station 桃園 to Tainan Station 台南 (1305 TWD, 1 hour 22 min).
3. Follow the THSR directions below.

Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)

There are direct flights from Haneda and Gimpo. For the airport's webpage, click. From the airport to the university, it takes about 3 hours by subway + fast train + local train:

1. Take a subway (Taipei Metro) from Songshan Airport to Zhongxiao Fuxing 忠孝復興, connect to another subway line to Taipei Main Station 台北車站 (25 TWD, 16 min).
2. Take a THSR (Taiwan high speed rail) train from Taipei Station 台北 to Tainan Station 台南 (1480 TWD, 1 hour 43 min).
3. Follow the THSR directions below.

Tainan Airport (TNA)

There are direct flights from Hong Kong. This airport is about 15-minute away from the campus by taxi. For the airport's webpage, click.

Directions from THSR (Taiwan high speed rail) Tainan station

The closest THSR station is Tainan 高鐵 台南站. There is a fast train about every half hour. See THSR for schedules.

• After exiting the ticket gates of THSR, go downstairs to the station lobby and take Exit 4 for taxi (about 350 TWD, 25 min).
• Or, to take public transportation:
  1. After exiting the ticket gates of THSR, turn left, and walk along the passage to the TRA (Taiwan Railways Administration) Shalun Station 臺鐵 沙崙站.
  2. Take a local train from TRA Shalun Station 沙崙 to TRA Tainan Station 台南 (25 TWD, 23~28 min). Every local train from Shalun Station stops in Tainan. The departure is typically on the hour and on the half-hour. The Taipei metro card ( 悠遊卡) can also be used for this connection train.
  3. Take the rear exit 後站 to the campus. The station is on the left of the Campus map.
