TITLE | Recent Development on Spectral Theory of the Neumann-Poincare Operator and Applications |
ABSTRACT | The Neumann-Poincare operator is a classical boundary integral operator arsing naturally when solving Dirichlet or Neumann boundary value problems using layer potentials. Recently interest in spectral properties of the Neumann-Poincare operator grow rapidly in connection with plasmonic optics and fields enhancement. In this talk we review recent progress on spectral theory of the Neumann-Poincare operator in the context of the dielectric problem and the linear isotropic elasticity. We will also discuss some outstanding problems for further development. |
