TITLE Is every Neardomain a Nearfield?

ABSTRACT The title of this talk is a long standing and probably quite difficult questions in the vicinity of nearring theory. A survey on known results and proposed approaches will be given. This leads naturally to the theory of K-loops. Today it seems that K-loops open the most promising path towards an answer to the question. Also some consequences of a prospected answer will be discussed.
